Huawei Mate 20 Series will Power Kirin 980 in October

Richard Yu, the CEO of Huawei, has confirmed that the Mate 20 series will be powered by the Kirin 980 and it will launch in October. He claimed that it will be the world’s first commercially available 7nm chipset.

This new 7nm chipset will be 20% faster and 40% more efficient. Huawei will announce the Kirin 980 in a few weeks. We will get the full details when the company will make the announcement at the IFA congress in Berlin. This new chipset will have processor cores that peak at 2.8GHz.

Huawei Mate 20 Series will come with  Kirin 980 in October

Kirin 980 with 7nm will be available in Huawei Mate 20, the Mate 20 Pro and the Mate 20 Lite. A few days back, leaked images of Huawei Mate 20 pro revealed that it will have a notch and 3D face scanner. Mate 20 Pro will have 6.25” screen with a 6.8 mm notch and just 3.8 mm chin. Huawei Mate 20 Lite pictures showcased that this device will also come with a notch. This is not the first time that Chinese manufacturer has incorporated notch in its devices. Just recently Nova 3i, a mid-range smartphone was launched with a large notch. Huawei Mate 20 will have a 6.3-inch screen. The phone will launch with a powerful battery of 4,200mAh. As Huawei has decided to extend the notch to the Mate 20 series so one of the phones from mate family will have a notch.
