We already had some idea how Mate 20 X 5G will look like, thanks tot he leaked video of the device last month. Later on, the retail packaging was also leaked, so Huawei finally decided to launch the device. However, for people who do not know about it, Huawei Mate 20 X 5G is a variation of original Mate 20 X which was launched last November. The major difference between the two handsets, as evident from the name, is that this new handset supports 5G networks with reduced battery capacity. It is Huawei’s first 5G phone.
Huawei Mate 20 X 5G is quite Expensive
Mate 20X 5G will feature a bright and large 7.2-inch display. It will come with 8GB of RAM. In addition to that, the handset will sport a triple camera setup identical to the one on the Mate 20 Pro. The video launched previously has shown few angles of the Mate 20 X, prominently highlighting a 5G logo on its backside. However, we had no details at that time. Now we know that the handset has a 4,200 mAh battery cell to keep the lights on. It also has a quicker 40W Super Charge support.
Giant Mate 20 X 5G will sport Huawei’s own Balong 5000 modem. This modem is compatible with the HiSilicon Kirin 980 SoC and will require more physical space within the Mate 20 X. That’s why the company has reduced the battery size to 4,200 mAh as compared to the standard 5,000 mAh cell in the 4G version.
Initially, the device will be launched in the UK by June, later on, it will be launched for other markets as soon as they are ready for 5G networks. The device will be available in Emerald Green for £999 in the UK.
