Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max Appears on Geekbench with Kirin Chipset

Huawei is preparing to bring its latest Pura smartphone series to global markets, and a new Geekbench listing has revealed some interesting details about the upcoming Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max. The benchmark entry suggests that Huawei is once again using a Kirin chipset in the Pura 90s Pro Max, marking an important step for the company’s mobile business.

According to the Geekbench 6.0 database, the Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max, carrying the model number SCA-LX9, has been certified ahead of its expected global launch on July 14. While benchmark listings often reveal key hardware specifications, the biggest highlight this time is the return of the “Hisilicon Kirin” name in the processor information.

For a long time, Geekbench displayed only the word “vendor” instead of identifying Huawei’s mobile processor by name. The latest listing now clearly mentions “Hisilicon Kirin,” suggesting that Huawei’s in-house chip branding is making a comeback in international markets.

The benchmark also shows that the phone will run EMUI based on Android 16. Although Huawei has not officially announced a new version of EMUI for global devices, the listing indicates that the software is already being prepared for future smartphones.

The processor features an octa-core design with support for 12 processing threads. It has a base clock speed of 1.62GHz and includes three groups of CPU cores. Four cores operate at 1.62GHz, six cores run at 2.15GHz, and two high-performance cores reach speeds of up to 2.70GHz. This configuration is expected to deliver a balanced mix of power efficiency and strong performance for everyday tasks as well as demanding applications.

Based on the available specifications, the chipset appears to be closely related to the Kirin 9030S. Huawei also offers the Kirin 9030 and Kirin 9030 Pro, both of which feature slightly different core arrangements and higher thread counts. The Kirin 9030 Pro also includes the Maleoon 935 GPU for improved graphics performance.

The tested device comes with 12GB of RAM, allowing smooth multitasking and better app performance. In Geekbench testing, the phone scored 1,305 points in the single-core test and 4,415 points in the multi-core test. These results indicate that the device is capable of handling both daily tasks and more demanding workloads with ease.

The benchmark results also highlight strong performance in several practical areas, including file compression, navigation, background blur, photo filtering, and ray tracing. These improvements suggest that the new Kirin chipset will support advanced photography features and better graphics processing.

Although Huawei has not officially confirmed all the hardware details, the Geekbench listing provides an early look at what users can expect from the Pura 90s Pro Max. If the leaked information proves accurate, the smartphone could become one of Huawei’s strongest global releases in recent years. The return of the Kirin name, combined with solid benchmark performance, signals Huawei’s continued efforts to strengthen its position in the premium smartphone market.
