ICTs in Transport Domain Opens Doors to Investment. The record endorsement of mobile broadband has unlocked doors to state-of-the-art business endeavors. Pakistan has seen some instant hits in transport realm as world known service providers are making their way to Pakistan to assist commuters and tourists.

Pakistan is at intersections of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) revolution where sufficient regulatory space is offered to innovators and entrepreneurs on base of progressive telecom technologies.

The demand side of ICTs is ever increasing and operators, developers and service providers are speedily catching up. The world’s leading cab service, Uber, has also entered Pakistan by introducing its facilities in Lahore.

In the same way Careem, another car employing service, is a huge triumph in cities of Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. That delivers committed Wi-Fi facility in corporation with Telenor.

Another such innovative service Travly also permits a customer to book a rickshaw, car, bus etc. online or via app.

Long distance travel services like Daewoo Pakistan, Q-Connect are also delivering internet and multimedia solution to travelers. They are developing online booking via website and apps.

In a report PTA stated that various apps and online services have been developed for hotel booking and event planning for travelers and tourists.

Furthermore, mobile broadband has become propeller of transformation in ICT services. The demand for mobile broadband is so high that the Mobile phone operators have covered 237 cities against their roll out obligation of 15 cities.

Taking everything into account it is justified that ICT services have huge unmet demand and impending for investment and development in Pakistan.

PTA is trying hard to emphasize significance of ICTs in every sector of economy. It also pledges to provide maximum assistance to private sector for delivering inventive ICT services to the people of Pakistan.
