Import of Mobile Phones in Pakistan Increases by 14.38% in Six Month

Pakistan Bureau of Statistics released a latest data which revealed that Import of Mobile Phones in Pakistan Increases by 14.38 in Six Month. Mobile Phone Imports in Pakistan during the first half of fiscal year 2017-2018 increased up by 14.38 percent as compared to last year (same period). Import of Mobile Phones in Pakistan Increases by 14.38 in Six Month.

The imports increases from $376.5 million from July-December. The number has gradually increased as it was $329.177 million during the same period of last year.

Mobile phone imports also witnessed increase and it rose to $73. However on monthly basis imports increased by 25 percent. The imports of overall telecom industry increased bu 12 % during July-December 2017-18 as compared to same period of previous year. The imports of telecom sector during first two quarters of current fiscal year was recorded at $739.

Sources in Pakistan Customs said that the imports were mainly increased due to action taken against smuggled goods. The sources said that there was huge demand for smart phones of new models of various brands.

Hopefully, Pakistan companies having offshore offices and those which park their revenues and investments in different countries will reap the benefits of incentives and business opportunities in Pakistan at times the foreign companies are looking for making their investments in Pakistan with the development of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
