By removing over 5.8 million inactive SIMs, PTA aims to reinforce its commitment to creating a safer and more transparent telecom ecosystem. It is a commendable step toward securing Pakistanโs digital landscape. However, authorities need to enforce stricter penalties for offenders. Moreover, they need to enhance public education campaigns and tighter collaboration with telecom companies. For Pakistanโs digital economy to thrive, addressing telecom security challenges should be the top priority.
