Today, Instagram is launching a few latest features to its application that put Reels and Shop feature on the home screen. These new features are launching in more than 50 countries globally, including Japan, the United States, Australia, and the UK, on both Android and iOS.
The company has announced considerable changes to its application. The Shop and Reels tabs will be revealed right at the center and front of the home page.

Moreover, the Likes and Post buttons are shifted to the upper right corner of the page, next to the DM’s button.
Besides this, Reels is similar to TikTok; it allows users to create short videos. It is basically the company’s reply to TikTok. Now it is a sub-platform within Instagram where users can make quick, entertaining vertical videos. Moreover, the video camera recorder is also similar to the TikTok one.
The company said, “Now we’re rolling out the Reels tab to be kind of a stage, a place where people can share their creativity with the world and have a chance to break out and find an audience.”
Instagram added, “With the Shop tab, we’re making it easy to get inspired by the creators you love, shop on Instagram, and support small businesses. You can find personalized recommendations, editors’ pics curated by our @shop channel, shoppable videos, new product collections, and more…”
Sound known? Instagram’s Shop and Reels tabs are not even new. Before this update, you could find IGTV and Shop accounts in the search bar, and a tile that takes up many search tab contains Reels in it.
Instagram accepts that “how people create and enjoy culture has changed, and the biggest risk to Instagram is not that we change too fast, but that we don’t change and become irrelevant.”
