This time Instagram has launched a new feature for visually impaired users who previously found difficulty in using the app. Keeping in view that these people are in minority, not all online apps are launching feature for minorities of the society. These two Instagram New features will make the app easier to use for people with visual impairments.

Instagram new tool incorporates object recognition technology that used AI to easily identify the content of the picture shared on its platform. Upon recognising it, Instagram automatically generates an audio description for visually impaired users when they will scroll the photo. The Instagram new feature will work for photos of User’s Instagram m feed as well as their own profiles.

The other feature introduced for visually impaired users is custom alternative text feature. The users will be able to create their own custom alt text in this way they will be able to provide a vast description of the picture. The people having visual impairments who use a screen reader to hear a description of the picture will be able to hear this version of the alt text.

The same kind of feature was launched by Facebook, who used AI to describe pictures to blind people. The alt text option on Instagram will look like this:
