Instagram Testing Reels- An Editing tool to compete with TikTok

Instagram has the habit of picking good features from other apps, this time it’s Tiktok’s turn. Yesterday we came to know that Instagram is copying some of the video recording features from the very famous platform among youngsters. Yes, Instagram Testing Reels. It reminded me of Snapchat stories feature which was incorporated by Instagram and in no time it’s a number of users surpassed the company who actually conceived the idea. It seems like Instagram exactly know that such feature will get most of the traffic from young people who use these services the most.  This new video editing tool is named as “Reels.” It will facilitate users with making 15-second video clips. These tracks will be easily found by the usage of hashtags just like it is done on TikTok.

Instagram Testing Reels: Will it Surpass TikTok in Terms of Subscribers?

When many tech critics said that the photo-sharing app has copied this feature from Tiktok, the company denied it and said:

“No two products are exactly the same, and at the end of the day, sharing video with music is a pretty universal idea we think everyone might be interested in using. The focus has been on how to make this a unique format for us… Your Friends are already on Instagram. I think that’s only true of Instagram”

Previously, Instagram had facilitated its users to find songs and borrow audios from other videos however Reels will also promote lip-syncing and loads of other editing features such as captions, video transitions and adding special effects to the video.

Currently, Instagram Reels is in the testing phase in Brazil and right now the company has not announced that when it will make its way to other markets. If Instagram has the same fate which it had when it copied Snapchat stories feature, it will in no time surpass TikTok.
