Instagram to Launch Filter Out Bullying Comments

Instagram will now filter out bullying comments automatically, this announcement was made at F8 conference. The company is upgrading its offensive comment filter.

This is such a great attempt by Instagram to get rid of negative comments and it will help to clean up the platform. In September 2016, the company allowed users to create filters for blocking content, that contained certain words. Last year, Instagram released another feature to block offensive comments. The reason behind this feature was to protect users from targeted groups.

Instagram to Release Filter Out Bullying Comments Soon

This new feature by Instagram will automatically filter out comments containing attacks on a person’s appearance or character. It will also point out and filter out those comments that threats to a person’s well-being or health.

The Instagram’s CEO said in a post:

This includes anything intended to harass or upset people in our community. Doing this will ensure Instagram remains an inclusive, supportive place for all voices.

Basically, this comment filter was introduced last year with the purpose of focus on toxic comments but is updated today. Users can also disable this new filter if they want to see the unedited comments on their feeds.

This new anti-bullying comments feature is launching in the English language, but in future, the Instagram will offer it in other languages too.
