Teacher Training

Internet connects the world as a global village. Which means we get to experience and learn everything and anything from around the globe. The Internet can play a vital role in training Pakistani teachers. And trained teachers may influence several thousand students altogether.

There are several foreign and local universities offering online teacher training courses in which teachers can enrol themselves and if not there is YouTube where you can listen to specialists regarding subjects such as Child psychology, Effective learning, Better teaching methods and much more. To not only deliver the course outline to the students but also build them better as a person and as a better human being.

No Books

Good education in Pakistan is already a luxury which everyone cannot afford and purchasing loads of books makes it even more difficult. Internet may help remove not only the physical burden of peeps carrying those heavy books but also cut down their education cost.

However, reading a book online isn’t the same as reading a book while holding it and also constant on-screen studying proves to be damaging for eyes but if one is unable to afford the books they may benefit from this facility.

I am not a big fan of virtual education, as half the knowledge is earned by the process of being educated physically, through interactions and co-curricular activities which is impossible to gain from the comfort of your home.

But as per the financial conditions of Pakistan and the fact that most of the children are bound to earn for their families and work at odd hours are unable to get a proper, formal education. For them, the internet may prove to be a virtual reality-based education program.

A suggestion to HEC may be that they can have net-cafes especially designed for the purpose of educating children virtually. They must have computers and internet connection available for students to walk in and get virtually educated as per their enrolled course.

The internet may be used to train and gear-up the young students of Pakistan to fight for their right to education and become competent enough to face the world. All we need to do is embrace the internet as a teacher and a trainer!
