Internet Services Partially Disrupted in Islamabad and Rawalpindi – Here’s Why

Internet services have been partially disrupted in several areas of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, causing problems for residents using mobile data and Wi-Fi services.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) said the disruption was caused by a cut in an optical fiber cable on the network of a telecom operator. The cable damage has resulted in partial service issues for some service providers in the affected areas.
According to the regulator, the disruption is limited to certain local areas and their surrounding regions. Some parts of the northern region have also reported internet service issues. However, services in central and southern parts of the country continue will operate normally.
Internet Services Partially Disrupted in Islamabad and Rawalpindi – Here’s Why
Residents in the affected areas have faced difficulties accessing internet services, including mobile data and Wi-Fi connections. The disruption has affected connectivity for users who rely on internet services for communication, work, education, and other online activities.
The PTA has advised citizens not to be concerned about the partial outage. Technical teams are currently working to repair the damaged optical fiber cable and restore services in the affected locations.
The regulator said efforts are underway to restore internet connectivity as quickly as possible. However, the repair work and complete restoration of services may take a few hours.
The PTA is expected to continue monitoring the situation until connectivity is fully restored in the affected areas. Users in other parts of the country will not face the same level of disruption, as internet services in central and southern regions remain operational.
