Apple eventually pulled the covers off of the iPhone 12 series after months of speculation and leaks. The regular iPhone 12, the smaller iPhone 12 Mini, the iPhone 12 Pro, and the iPhone 12 Pro Max are available in four versions.
In particular, the Pro has a host of capabilities that are not available on smaller smartphones, including the new LiDAR sensor, stainless steel finishes, and more. But, it turns out, you’re going to have to get the Pro Max if you still want the best.
No, that’s not because the iPhone 12 Pro Max has a bigger screen, and others really want a smaller display. Rather, it’s because Apple’s highest-end iPhone, the new Max, provides capabilities that you can’t get on the standard-size of the 12 Pro for the first time in years. Many are expected to have mixed thoughts over this, It’s awesome, of course, that Apple is adding additional capabilities to the new Pro Max. Those who spend $1,000 on a tablet, on the other hand, should already be getting the best of the best.
The extra features largely come in the form of camera upgrades. The basic iPhone 12 Pro has, to be sure, an outstanding camera, and it is impossible to lament as most consumers are unlikely to be impacted by the variations. But although the Pro limits the telephoto lens at 4x zoom, the 12 Pro Max has 5x zoom. And, in contrast to the regular Pro, it also has a larger sensor that Apple claims can allow for improved low-light images.
