iPhone 16 Pro Is Tipped To Boast 20% Brighter Screen
Apple’s upcoming iPhone 16 series has been in the pipeline of rumors since the beginning of this year. The upcoming iPhone series is tipped to come with a plethora of features. Recently, a new rumor from China popped up. According to the rumor, the highly anticipated iPhone 16 Pro coming later this year will have a display 20% brighter display than its predecessor. The rumors refer to the typical brightness rather than peak HDR brightness. The iPhone 15 Pro tops out at 1,000 nits typical brightness, and the iPhone 16 Pro is claimed to go up to 1,200 nits. It’s going to be a significant change in terms of display brightness.
iPhone 16 Pro Will Have A Brighter Screen Than Its Predecessors
The peak High Brightness Mode will remain the same. However, there is some confusion regarding the numbers. Manufacturers usually quote the number they like most, however, there are now numerous modes to consider. There’s manual brightness, typical brightness, High Brightness Mode brightness, Auto Brightness, and HDR peak brightness which can go much higher than any of the others on specific areas of the screen. The latest rumor claims the iPhone 16 Pro will have the same High Brightness Mode peak of 1,600 nits as its predecessor. However, its predecessor can actually go up to 2,000 nits. So, there is still some confusion here.
Anyhow, it wouldn’t be surprising at all for the silicon giant to make the iPhone 16 Pro’s screen brighter. Increased brightness has been a trend recently in the Android world as well. The 1,000-nit typical brightness has been the same since the launch of the iPhone 13 Pro in 2021, so it’s presumably about time for an increase.
Moreover, Apple plans to improve the optical zoom capabilities in its higher-tier iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models. This improvement will come after employing a tetra prism lens, akin to a periscope. While the iPhone 15 Pro offers a 3x optical zoom using a similar system, the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max are expected to feature a 5x optical zoom. They will also come with a typical 25x digital zoom option for capturing photos. In terms of software, Apple is set to adopt AI technology with the iPhone 16 series. It will introduce a range of AI-infused features to improve image capture, processing, and editing for millions of users.
