iPhone Fold Leaks Hint at Side Fingerprint Sensor, Dual Displays and 48MP Camera

Fresh leaks have provided a clearer picture of Apple’s long-rumored entry into the foldable smartphone segment, widely referred to as the iPhone Fold, although the official name remains unconfirmed.
According to details shared on China’s social media platform Weibo by well-known leaker Digital Chat Station, Apple’s first foldable device is expected to adopt a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The move would mark a notable shift from Apple’s Face ID system, which the report claims will not be included. An under-display fingerprint scanner is also said to be absent.
The leak suggests the iPhone Fold will follow a book-style folding design. Its main internal display is tipped to measure 7.58 inches, featuring an under-display selfie camera. Meanwhile, the outer cover screen is expected to be 5.25 inches in size and will reportedly use a hole-punch cutout for the front-facing camera.
On the imaging front, the device is said to include two rear cameras, with at least one sensor offering 48-megapixel resolution. While further camera specifications remain unclear, the setup appears consistent with Apple’s recent focus on fewer but higher-quality sensors.
Industry analysts have previously suggested that Apple’s entry into the foldable market could help reignite consumer interest in the category, which has seen slower growth in recent years. If the leaks prove accurate, the iPhone Fold could arrive in 2026, potentially signalling Apple’s long-awaited push into foldable hardware.
As with all pre-launch reports, the information remains unconfirmed, and Apple has not commented on the claims.
