Islamabad IT Park Targeted for Completion in January 2026

Progress on Pakistan’s flagship Information Technology Parks in Karachi and Islamabad was reviewed during a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Information Technology, where officials shared updates on construction timelines and procurement processes. According to officials, the Islamabad IT park will become operational in January 2026.
Briefing the committee, the Project Director announced that the Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Karachi IT Park has reached its final stage. He confirmed that the project’s tender would be floated by the end of the current month, after which the contractor selection process will formally begin. According to officials, the contract is expected to be finalized within three months.
Islamabad IT Park to Become Operational in January 2026
Meanwhile, significant progress has been reported on the Islamabad IT Park. The Project Director informed the committee that construction work is being carried out at an accelerated pace, with the contractor increasing the workforce to ensure timely completion. He stated that the building’s structure has been completed up to 98 percent.
Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima, told the committee that overall development work on the Islamabad IT Park has reached 80 percent completion. She added that 60 percent of the project’s progress was achieved within a single year, reflecting improved execution and oversight.
Officials reiterated their goal of completing the Islamabad IT Park by January 2026. However, the Standing Committee Chairman issued a firm directive, stating that the project must be completed by February 28 under all circumstances, marking a newly announced deadline.

Shaza Fatima further informed the committee that the Prime Minister is personally monitoring the project and regularly seeks updates on its progress, underscoring the government’s priority to operationalize the IT Park as a hub for technology, innovation, and foreign investment.
The IT Parks are critical infrastructure for Pakistan’s digital economy. They aimed at boosting exports, supporting startups, and creating high-skilled employment opportunities across the country.
