Islamabad Traffic Police will Now Collect Challan through Mobile Phones

The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has decided to present a mobile phone system to collect challan amount. The Traffic Police previously collected challan amount through a challan book. Following the launch of digital driving licence, the ITP has taken another step to ease the citizens to deposit the challan fee through mobile phone.

The Islamabad traffic police established a computer application in partnership with the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) and U-Fone to get the challan amount with the help of mobile phone. Traffic officers will send messages to people who violate the rules on their mobile phones indicating them about the fines. The challan message will automatically be saved in the mobile phone of the challan the officer, in the database of the NBP and in the ITP record.

Those who will be penalized will be able to deposit challan amount through easy paisa, mobi cash or any other mode of transaction.

ITP focuses and concentrates mainly on traffic education to maintain road discipline. A traffic education team has been created exclusively to meet the objectives. The team is supported by print and electronic media, civil society and corporate sector. Now they have decided to introduce a system which will enable the citizens to pay challan through cell phones.
