It is encouraging to see that during the first six months of the current fiscal year, the growth rate of export remittances of IT and IT-enabled services is 13.16% as compared to the same period of last year. So at this rate, from July 2018 to June 2019 the estimated total exports are expected to be around $950.
According to PESB, the actual export remittances are higher than what is being reported by the State Bank of Pakistan at present, as PESB is in continuous interaction with the member companies. Accurate and precise report of export remittances will no doubt attract more Government incentives. Furthermore, Correct reporting will also be helpful in attracting more outsourcing businesses and investment.
IT & ITeS Export Remittances Growing at 13.16% During First Half of the Current FY
State Bank of Pakistan reported the following breakdown of IT & ITeS export remittances:
PESB also organized IT Export awards 2018 on 26 December 2018 in order to give honor to the leading exporters of the country. It presented Platinium, Gold, and Silver awards to IT/ITeS-BPO companies and call centers. These awards were given purely on the basis of export remittances.
Based on export remittances in the fiscal year 2018-2019, PESB is planning to arrange the IT export awards in the latter part of 2019.
