IT Sector of Pakistan Plays an Instrumental Role in Boosting Declining Exports: PSEB. IT sector play a very vital role as it can align the export based industries on modern lines.

A seminar was held on “IT Growth Opportunities” on Thursday at Lahore Chamber of Commerce. Higher officials of LCCI and IT officials from industry attended this event.

Abdul Basit , President at LCCI shared his views and said that reforms in IT sector can definitely boost the exports which are currently declining. He told that about 2000 software houses and call centers are currently working in Pakistan.

While speaking on Seminar, Abdul Basit Said:

IT Services contributed 17 percent in services sector’s exports of $5 billion in 2016.

He Added:

Various IT companies of Pakistan are providing services to the world’s renowned entities but despite all of these Pakistan’s IT sector contributes hardly 0.2 percent in the global IT trade of around $500 billion that does not match the potential of this important sector

Director International of Pakistan Software Export Board, Salman Hassan asked people to promote Pakistan’s IT industry. He said to promote Pakistan’s IT industry PSEB is carrying research regarding ICT sector.

While speaking on Occasion, Salman said:

 PSEB is also studying IT laws and regulations of various competitor countries, and proposing improvements and modifications in Pakistan’s public policy for IT
