It is also important here to note that Uber is already having issues its home town, America, with Waymo-an autonomous car manufacturing company. And now the company faced an international dispute.
Not only this, the internal situation of company is also not well as the President of Uber has recently resigned.
The Italian court said that:
“Uber is a transportation company but doesn’t respect transportation laws — rates aren’t set by the transportation authority. That was the main contention point for traditional taxi associations as they can’t compete with Uber on price.”
The court has given 10 days to Uber to shut down its services after which it won’t be allowed to run advertising campaigns.
Additionally, in case Uber didn’t follow court orders, will pay €10,000 per day.
Uber is ready to appeal against this decision. Uber in response said that:
“The transportation laws of Italy are outdated and hence doesn’t benefit Italian users.”
