Display of Jazz X JS 2:
Jazz JS 2 comes with 4.5” FWVGA display, which is common display for an entry level smartphone, the phone has 480 x 854 resolution with reasonable 240ppi. While testing the Jazz X JS 2, we found its 2-point multi-touch screen. The capacitive touch is normal, while typing is not a big issue with capacitive keyboard.
Design of Jazz X JS 2:
Jazz X JS 2 got polycarbonate plastic body and frame too, it is 133 x 66 x 8.8mm device with suitable dimension that make it proper handy phone. The design language is totally different from its previous version.
Starting from the front display, Jazz X JS 2 spreads 4.5” FWVGA capacitive display, the screen-to-body ratio is 65% that is acceptable. With 4.5” capacitive display, the upper area has earpiece, 0.3MP front camera and LED flash. Well, a proximity sensor is also there however they are not visible. The bottom of front side has capacitive function buttons outside of display panel.
While the right side of Jazz JS 2 is dedicated to power key and volume rocker. The power flanked from a dimple which is not properly elevated which is need a bit more effort to press. The bottom has nothing but a microphone.
The back cover is removable to give access to beneath stuff like battery, SIMs and MicroSD slot. There is square shape bump for 5MP rear camera and an oval cutout for LED flash. The ringer/sound speaker is at bottom of back.
Memory for Jazz X JS 2:
This time Jazz has decided to go with 1GB RAM in Jazz X JS however Jazz X JS 1 was launched with 512MB RAM. The internal memory is sufficient with 8GB internal storage, though you can expand upto 32GB with MicroSD card. 1GB RAM is a good move from jazz as nowadays
Camera within Jazz X JS 2:
Jazz JS 2 features 5MP rear camera with LED flash while 0.3MP selfie shooter on the front. Both the cameras are Fixed focus and give average picture quality. The front camera is just 0.3MP which should have at least 2MP for being an entry level device as selfie is now essential part of everyone’s daily life.
The camera App is simple just like other entry level phones, what you all see on interface are three different toggles. The capture toggle, beauty toggle and virtual button for some usual settings like HDR, Timer, Victory gesture and flash controller. The rear camera has Panorama, GIF modes for picture.
As for as camera quality, its good enough in given price bracket being an entry level device. The Gesture capture, and Panorama and HDR are some prominent features for rear camera, with that the 5MP lens work as camcorder to make 720p HD video.
The front camera has average quality, well not as good but for 0.3MP lens it is acceptable. For given price, Jazz could give 2MP lens at least. This is the point which Jazz JS 2 needs some improvements. For video recording its support 480p video recording.
Jazz X JS 2 Connectivity Suite:
Jazz X JS 2 has proper connectivity suit, it includes 3G network support, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS, and FM Radio too.
For Physically connection, it is featured with audio jack and microUSb port 2.0.
I think it’s enough for an entry level smartphone.
Battery Performance of Jazz X JS 2:
The battery inside Jazz JS 2 is 1750mAh and removable though. It is fairly good with entry level chipset and FWVGA display. The provided hardware has low battery consumption due to basic architecture. However, 3G connectivity sucks battery badly, so if you use 3G network for more than 3 hours in a day, it would ask for charging twice a day.
Jazz X JS 2 Interface:
Jazz X JS 2 runs latest android v6.0 (Marshmallow) using native android interface, although the Wallpapers and Theme are custom design that has Jazz X JS 2 logo.
There are some pre-loaded jazz Apps, whose icons are visible at homescreen. With that, Facebook, Whatsapp and Skype has been loaded into JS 2.
The notification area can be accessed by swiping down at top, which further gives you access to Quick Settings.
Processor of Jazz X JS 2:
Jazz X JS 2 boosted with Spreadtrum SC7731C Quad-core chipset. The processor runs at 1.2GHz clock rate -paired with 1GB RAM so the processing would be smooth until 2 Apps run simultaneously.
The GPU employed by Jazz X JS 2 is Mali-400MP with OpenGL ES 2.0, enough for the FWVGA display.
Antutu Benchmark Score:
Antutu is used as standard App for checking the worth of a processor and other attached hardware. So Jazz X JS 2 is packed with 1.2GHz Quad-core chipset from Spreadtrum, which is considered as an entry level processor, but it performed really good in Antutu despite of low range processor. JS 2 got 19475 point in benchmarking and proved itself be a suitable chipset for given price bracket.
Vellamo Benchmark Score:
In Vellamo benchmarking, Jazz X JS 2 got 1058 points in Multicore test -well, good enough for Quad-core with basic specs, and 632 for single core test is not that bad. The last one is browser test, in which Jazz X JS 2 got 1233 while is not that good unfortunately.[quote_box_center]
Before making any final verdict, let tell you Jazz X JS 2 is an entry level phone which has some basic hardware sheet. So we can’t ask for outstanding performance, but it can fulfill the need of a smartphone as it can run each kind of social media App. Jazz X JS 2 is pocket friendly smartphone as its price is just PRs. 6,999/- in Pakistan with decent specs for given price range.[/quote_box_center]
