The smartwatches of Designer Kate Spade have so far preferred very dressy models, but that’s not the case anymore. The new KSNY Sport Smartwatch is less about party time and more about striding on the treadmill for an hour. While the style is much more sporty, it hasn’t lost its all-important Kate Spade personality, some elements of which were intensified in this lively, playful manner. The bezel is not resin— it is aluminum and is surrounded by the signature Kate Spade scallop design, whereas the crown button is made of enamel and is embossed with a spade logo. There are three colors available— a green strap gold body, a black body with a black strap and white highlights, and a silver body with a purple strap and red highlights. The secondary key comes in a pink contrast
It measures 42 mm with a thickness of 11 mm and the pixel density of the AMOLED display is 328 pixels per inch (ppi). At just 16 mm, the silicone strap is not very long.
The KSNY Sport is not based on the latest smartwatch platform of Fossil’s fifth generation, but rather shares software with the Fossil Sport. It translates into a cpu Snapdragon 3100 and RAM 512 MB and storage space 4 GB. Upon recharging, the battery must return a day’s worth of use.
On the fitness side, the KSNY Sport has a heart rate sensor on the back, connectivity with Google Play, and run tracking GPS, and is water-resistant to 30 meters, making it ideal for swimming. Bold color schemes capture much more visually than we’re used to seeing from the company on wearables. It fits well with the fashion range of Kate Spade, though, and is sure to tempt fans of the modern and exciting looks of the company.
