Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Sohail Afridi has launched a new system of online open courts to address public complaints. The initiative began from Bajaur district and aims to bring the provincial government closer to the people. Through these online sessions, citizens can directly raise their issues with senior officials without travelling long distances.

During the first online open court, the chief minister listened to complaints from residents of Bajaur. He issued clear instructions to the concerned departments to resolve these issues quickly. Afridi directed officials to address all registered complaints within 14 days. He also ordered them to submit detailed progress reports to ensure accountability.

While speaking at the session, Afridi said the initiative follows the vision of former prime minister Imran Khan. He referred to the slogan “Your Prime Minister with you” and said the provincial government is adopting the same approach. According to him, the purpose of online open courts is to reduce public suffering and improve service delivery.

The chief minister took serious notice of complaints related to education. He ordered immediate action on issues such as the lack of basic facilities in schools and absentee staff. He also instructed authorities to resolve problems faced by second-shift teachers on a priority basis. Afridi emphasized that education reforms remain a key focus of his government.

Afridi also reiterated the enforcement of the minimum monthly wage policy across the province. He directed that salaries, especially for teachers, should be transferred directly into their bank accounts. This step aims to ensure transparency and timely payments. He further stated that the provincial standard of one teacher for every 40 students must be strictly implemented.

Public transport was another major issue discussed during the open court. The chief minister ordered strict enforcement of passenger limits and official fare lists. He warned transport operators against overcharging and overloading. Afridi said that licences of operators violating the rules would be cancelled without exception.

The health sector also received special attention. Afridi instructed health authorities to ensure doctors’ attendance in hospitals. He directed officials to take prompt action on public complaints related to healthcare services. Surprise inspections were also ordered to improve discipline and service quality in government hospitals.

Afridi also directed officials to address complaints related to link-road rehabilitation, water supply, and other basic services in Bajaur. He stressed that remote and merged districts must receive equal attention and resources.

Concluding the session, the chief minister assured the public of his support. He said that just as Imran Khan understands the pain of the people, the provincial government stands with them as well. Afridi added that online open courts will continue in other districts to ensure better governance and public relief.
