LG Joins the Virtual Assistant Race, Introduces ‘Quick Voice’

LG is picking up the pace in the technology race and has launched ‘Quick Voice’ which is a personal assistant similar to Apple’s Siri.

Apple has been very proactive when it comes to innovative technology in general. It has always been carving the path for others to follow and has remained a trend setter in its industry. Apple not so long ago revolutionized the experience for a handheld device by introducing a virtual assistant in its latest iPhone 4S; the virtual assistant can set reminders, write txt messages, launch apps, search the web and do much more. You can even have a small conversation if you’re really bored, though the responses are limited but who knows in the future there might be a breakthrough in this technology and we could talk to these virtual assistants like friends.

Samsung has also debuted its own S-Voice on the Samsung Galaxy S III. Not wanting to be left behind, LG has introduced its own offering, called Quick Voice. The functions are basically the same: commands and natural conversations to call, text, launch apps, search and much more, like searching YouTube for instance. The machine translation, as usual, is far from perfect, but the Quick Voice functionality will be added from the end of June through July to devices like the Optimus VU and the Optimus LTE II.
