Lightning Science Group has chosen to light Karachi and make it country’s first smart city that would be a huge achievement. Lightning science group has signed a letter with Sindh Government to make Karachi City of lights again. Lightning science is best known for its LED technology and its magnificent design this light source last more than 10 times of the normal lightning. With the help of this system streets lightning will be standardized because of the LED Street lightning that are reliable and efficient.
Lightning Science Group Making Karachi- Pakistan’s First Smart City
The Sindh Information Minister Shrajeel Inaam Memon said that:
“With the help of Lighting Science and its partners, we expect to transform Karachi into Pakistan’s first Smart City,”
“The combination of off-grid LED lighting and other security solutions will greatly improve the safety and wellbeing of the citizens of Karachi.”
Pakistan first Smart City will Make Karachi City of Lights Again
This project involves the security of seaport throughout and the creation of resilient system of infrastructure lightening and they will provide light to almost 24 million populace. So that Karachi become smart city and city of lights again.
They will also be supported by the largest shareholder of Lightening science Pegasus Advisor. Craig Cogut, founder and chairman of Pegasus Capital Advisors said:
“We believe the future prosperity of cities lies in embracing not only collaborative partnerships, but leveraging the benefits of connectivity and energy efficiency,”
“The infrastructure that defines the ambiance and safety of a city must be resilient – distributed and energy efficient solutions, such as off-grid street lighting, are the wave of the future and we are excited to be bringing them to Pakistan.”
They will join hands to raise funds for security monitoring LED street lightning, the construction of smart pole and the international telecom firm Huawei.
Lightning Science Group has also worked in Brazil and their main purpose was to save money and they succeeded very well. Ed Bednarcik, CEO of Lighting Science said:
“We are tackling the issue of modernizing street lighting infrastructure at minimal cost head-on in Brazil, and now Pakistan,”

The project includes wireless internet, CCTV cameras, LSG’s FreeLED integrated solar LED lightning system along with bridges, road and public venues. It is basically of $20 million project also they have renamed it project first phase.
