Make e-books read aloud without installing any additional apps on your gadget. You can follow the following steps to make your iPhone or iPad read aloud.
Step 1: Adjust Accessibilty
Adjust the accessibility settings by going to Settings>>General>>Accessibility>>Speech. You can adjust speaking rate voice and other options here.
Step 2: Temporarily Turn Off Auto Lock
Turn off auto lock so there is no interruption in the reading and siri continues to read what ever there is on the screen. You can go to Settings>>General>>Auto-Lock. Make sure Auto-Lock is set to Never. Make sure you turn it on after listening to book for security purposes.
Step 3: Open a Book
Now to open any text on screen is the last thing to do. Swipe your fingers down the screen to make siri read. Siri will read out any visible text on the screen so be careful to eliminate the pages left, page number, title etc. It will automatically turn on the page after finishing one page.
Once it starts reading,there appears a small semi-transparent arrow on the top of screen. From this arrow you can manually control it to pause and play or to slow it down or fasten up. Speed can be adjusted here and also from settings.
