Mark Zuckerberg Criticises TikTok

Mark Zuckerberg has criticized the rapidly growing Chinese short-video app over the censored political protest, including in the United States. On Tuesday, Zuckerberg said in his speech at Georgetown University in Washington, that social media platforms of Facebook such as  WhatsApp were used by activists and protesters around the World, as its chats are encrypted and privacy of users is protected.

However, on the other hand the Chinese app growing quickly around the globe TikTok, censored the protests in the US,” highlighted by Facebook’s Zuckerberg. TikTok said that it is “not influenced by any foreign government.”

Among the younger audiences, Facebook is directly competing with TikTok around the globe, which enables users in order to create and share short videos of singing and dancing. Users act on well-known songs and apply special effect filters on their videos.

Senator Marco Rubio said in a statement:

Chinese-owned apps “are increasingly being used to censor content and silence open discussion on topics deemed sensitive by the Chinese Government and Communist Party.”

It is appreciable that Mark Zuckerberg has defended the public right to freedom of expression and criticized the censorship of protesters of China state. He said that we support the introduction of more regulation of the tech sector.
