Mediatek to Launch First Smartphone with Deca Core

Mediatek, a Taiwanese company announced to build first Deca Core Smartphone (ten-core architecture) and has named as Helio X20. This chipset is planned to compete with industry leader Qualcomm’s Snapdragon. Mediatek believes it ten cores at a time in a system architecture will not only increase the speed of multi-tasking but it will also decrease the work load on a single or dual core system. As it will have ten separate cores and tasks will be divided by these sectors. After the announcement of Deca core chip now its time to have First Smartphone with Deca Core. Smartphones will become more smarter if they run on Deca Cores.

Elephone P9000, First Smartphone with Deca Core to be launched Soon

MediaTek is ready to take a debut and make an entry in the Smartphone market by launching a Smartphone having Helio X20. The master chip will be embedded in a Chinese Phone named Elephone P9000. This phone will be launched in mid October. It is expected to release on 20th October having a price of $500.

Specifications of Elephone P9000:

  • MT6797 Deca Core CPU with 5.5 inch Full HD Screen
  •  4 GB RAM + 32 GB ROM
  •  8MP front camera + 20.7MP rear camera
  •  Equipped 3100mAh battery
  • Android 5.1 (Lollipop) OS

GPU will be Mali-T800. It will be the first ti-cluster architecture that will include two pairs of Cortex A72 processors these will produce optimal output having a clock at 2.5GHz. Four Cortex A53 that will be clocked at 2GHz. This will create a balance of performance and battery consumption. Another pair of Cortex A53 clocked at 1.4GHz for power efficiency. This phone will make a bench mark in term energy efficiency.

This Phone is expected to make its place in market. The phone and its specs are quite impressive, but it still remains to be seen as MediaTek has been struggling with producing highend chip-sets to compete with rivals although it still has captured mass market in the low and mid end devices.
