Microsoft HoloLens is smart glasses that involves the concept of mixed reality. The first HoloLens headset was launched almost four years ago. Microsoft HoloLens 2 was announced this February in Barcelona, Spain at Mobile World Congress. According to news, the HoloLens 2 headset is most likely to launch this September. Harry Shum is Head of AI and research at Microsoft, told the release date in the middle of onstage appearance at the World Intelligence Conference. The conference was held in Shanghai on Thursday.
Though Harry told about the released date. However, Microsoft said that Harray may have spoken of something else. According to Microsoft representative
“As we announced in February, Microsoft HoloLens 2 will begin shipping later this year, we have started collecting expressions of interest for HoloLens 2 preorders and, as part of our standard practice for gathering feedback, have shared near-final prototypes with some customers, but have not announced a date for general availability.”
Cost and Specs
Microsoft has already started taking preorders. The HoloLens 2 cost only $3,500. Microsoft also improved gesture controls in HoloLens 2. Now, a user can operate objects easily. The augmented reality-based glasses include an ARM processor and a better field of view. It also comes up with different display systems and a new Azure Kinect sensor.

Furthermore, Microsoft is also acquiring an open model for its Windows and HoloLens 2. It includes a different kind of app store. Here the developers are able to produce their own stores on the headset. It will be an open browsing model. There will be more drivers and APIs there. HoloLens 2 headset will also provide its back to the Unreal Engine 4. It will allow developers to include renders involving mixed reality. The fields of designing, manufacturing, and architecture will use this technique in the future.
