Microsoft Shuts Down its E-Book Store
Hey! if you have to build your Microsoft Store e-book library then change your mind as well as your plans. Microsoft is shutting down e-books from its online portal and has also planned to remove access to existing purchases and rentals in early July.
This move will definitely frustrate a few users but is gonna leave many more people shocked that the books category existed in the first place.
Microsoft Shuts Down its E-Book Store
The ebook store launched as part of the April 2017 Windows 10 Creators Update. Overall, the service was very popular and Microsoft is not making it clear that why it is closing the store down but it shows that the company thinks that it was not so popular.
The company confirms in its support pages:
“Starting April 2, 2019, the books category in Microsoft Store will be closing. Unfortunately, this means that starting July 2019 your ebooks will no longer be available to read, but you’ll get a full refund for all book purchases.”
Well, now there is no way to buy, rent, or pre-order ebooks from the store but Microsoft Edge will continue to offer support for reading titles from an existing library until early July 2019. However, after that point, the catalog will vanish completely. This move by Microsoft disappoints so many people across the globe.
