Microsoft to End Skype for TV Support from June 2016

Skype has brought a great calling experience in the living room in collaboration with many TV manufacturers since 2010. But with the passage of time users have modified the manner they use Skype, with the mainstream accessing it from a mobile device while being in the living room as well.

Microsoft wants to make sure they prioritize offering the best possible experience to the platforms their users are asking for, which is why they have decided to concentrate their determination in other areas while supporting key functionality on Skype for TV for as long as possible.

Nevertheless users who use Skype for TV seem to be unhappy with Microsoft’s decision to stop Skype for TV support. However we are hoping that Microsoft will escalate their efforts and lay emphasis on making Skype better on mobile devices.
