Microsoft to End Support for Classic Skype
Microsoft has announced that soon it will end its support for Skype 7.0, ‘Old Skype’ or ‘Skype Classic‘. The company has confirmed it via blog, that it is cutting support for the classic Skype for desktops on November 1 this year, and for mobiles and tablets on November 15.
Classic Skype will not Give You Good Time Any More
The company has confirmed that it will no longer offer support for Skype versions 7 and below.
The company said:
“As we continue to focus on and improve Skype version 8, support for Skype versions 7, and below will end on November 1, 2018 on desktop devices and November 15, 2018 on mobile and tablet devices.
Company further said that:
We’ll be able to use the legacy version “for a little while”, but encourages everyone to update “to avoid any interruption”.
Everyone should start using the Skype version 8. So install the new version. Skype 8 will have a free HD video and screen sharing calls, improved messaging with @mentions and notifications, chat media gallery. Moreover, it will help you in sharing files of up to 300 MB at a time. Skype 8 will also be available for iPads.
Microsoft was supposed to end the Classic version support on September 1st, but Microsoft delayed it in the August just after when it received complaints from users.
