The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) has launched a comprehensive recruitment drive to hire qualified and experienced professionals to support the government’s vision of Digital Nation Pakistan. The applications are now open for key digital policy and technology positions. The initiative aims to strengthen national capacity in digital policy-making, governance, cybersecurity, emerging technologies, and workforce development.

The Ministry is inviting applications for several Special Professional Pay Scale (SPPS) positions that will play a critical role in shaping Pakistan’s digital transformation agenda. These positions are designed for professionals who are prepared to contribute at a national level and help position Pakistan as a knowledge-based, digitally empowered economy.

Advisor (Emerging Technologies Research) – SPPS-I

The Advisor (Emerging Technologies Research) will provide strategic leadership to the Ministry in leveraging advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, blockchain, cybersecurity, and semiconductors. The role focuses on policy formulation, research, innovation strategy, and national coordination on emerging technologies.

The Advisor will conduct in-depth research on global technology trends, recommend national priorities, oversee strategic digital projects, and foster collaboration with provincial governments, industry, and academia. This position requires extensive experience in technology research, policy development, and leadership at a national or strategic level.

Director E-Governance – SPPS-II

The Director E-Governance will lead the conceptualization and implementation of e-governance initiatives across Pakistan. The role is aimed at improving public service delivery through digital platforms and modernizing government processes.

Responsibilities include developing national e-governance policies and standards, coordinating federal and provincial digital initiatives, benchmarking international best practices, and engaging stakeholders to ensure citizen-centric, secure, and interoperable government services.

Director Digital Economy – SPPS-II

The Director of Digital Economy will be responsible for developing and implementing Pakistan’s national digital economy strategy. The position focuses on maximizing the contribution of digital technologies to economic growth, job creation, and innovation.

Key responsibilities include policy and regulatory reform for digital markets, promotion of e-commerce and fintech, ecosystem development, stakeholder engagement, and monitoring digital economy performance through defined indicators.

Director Internet Governance – SPPS-II

The Director of Internet Governance will lead Pakistan’s national internet governance strategy and represent the country in regional and international forums such as ICANN, IGF, and APNIC.

The role involves developing internet governance policies, coordinating multi-stakeholder engagement, building national capacity in internet governance, and ensuring Pakistan’s interests are effectively represented in global digital policy discussions.

Director Cybersecurity and Privacy – SPPS-II

The Director of Cybersecurity and Privacy will strengthen Pakistan’s national cybersecurity posture and data protection frameworks. Responsibilities include policy development, coordination of national cybersecurity initiatives, engagement with international partners, and oversight of capacity-building programs.

The role focuses on addressing emerging cyber threats, aligning national frameworks with international standards. It will also promote a culture of cybersecurity awareness and data privacy across public institutions.

Director General Emerging Skills – SPPS-II

The Director General of Emerging Skills will lead national initiatives aimed at developing a future-ready workforce equipped with skills in emerging technologies such as AI, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and blockchain.

This position involves coordinating federal and provincial skills programs, engaging with global technology companies and international organizations, designing training and certification frameworks, and aligning workforce development with national digital and economic goals.

Expert Emerging Technologies (AI & Machine Learning) – SPPS-III

The Expert Emerging Technologies (AI & ML) will support national AI initiatives through research, policy support, and ecosystem development. The role includes contributing to ethical AI frameworks, monitoring global AI trends, engaging with academia and industry, and supporting the implementation of Pakistan’s AI roadmap.

This position will work closely with the Advisor for Emerging Technologies to strengthen national AI capacity and innovation.
