Among vast list of functions performed by mobile phone, nowadays people use it for variety of purposes. Also due to the dramatic change in terms of technology: the internet, satellite stations, and the social networks people have become more aware about their rights and civil liberties. One of the best roles played by mobile and social media was during the 2010 wave of “Arab Uprisings”. As the protestors of these uprisings were majorly young people hence they used social media like Facebook, twitter and YouTube to organize, communicate and raise political awareness among the protestors. Protestors across the country used to announce the venue and timings for their protest on social media websites, making it easier to come and join their cause. Instead of AK-147 their revolution tool was social media, this is the reason why the alternative name for this uprising became “Facebook Revolution”. The use of mobile phone on political forums has made it clear that now everything is possible through this tiny device. People have now full freedom of expression as they can tweet and discuss everything through social media.
