As in November, 2015 the leading cellular operator of Pakistan “Mobilink” announced merger with “Warid”; which successfully underwent the required steps as per the regulatory Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). Last week both companies have announced the complete transaction of their merger while bringing some changes to the higher leadership.
Similarly, now its time to introduce changes to other departments that is why Mobilink and Warid has given 90 days notice to the 8 department heads. The heads of departments were informed by the Mobilink through an official letter.
Mobilink to Decide Future of Eight Department Heads of Warid in 90 Days
In the course of these 90 days, the heads of departments are supposed to work as advisors for Mobilink and will also report to their respective heads. The CEO of Warid Muneer Farooqui will also report to Aamir Ibrahim, who is now the combine CEO of both Warid and Mobilink.
After these 90 days, the future of these heads will be decided by the Mobilink as the company wants to keep them or let them go at the end of 90 days.
Also other than these 8 department heads, the future of some other key officials within Warid will be decided within these 90 days.
No doubt the merger is good for industry as well as beneficial for Mobilink but it has also brought devastating effects for employees of Warid. Life is always so uncertain so we can only wish better luck to these employees for their bright future in other organizations.
