Mobilink, Warid Merger to Create 5,000 Jobs Opportunities in Pakistan

After the successful merger of Mobilink-Warid in Pakistan, the CEO of VimpelCom shared his plans on Thursday for further developments in the country.

Jean-Yves Charlier, the CEO of VimpelCom expressed about the company’s plan of $1Billion investment for next 5 years in Pakistan that will also create career opportunities for around 5,000 people.

VimpelCom to Invest $1Billion in Pakistan and Create Around 5,000 Jobs

The CEO Jean-Yves Charlier also said that:

“VimpelCom will create 5,000 new jobs in Pakistan over the five-year period. According to a Business Recorderpiece shared by the telco, these jobs will come as a result of the establishment of 1,500 retail stores and mini-franchises.”

The CEO also shared with the media that:

“This $1 billion investment amount is separate from the $1 billion IT transformation project VimpelCom announced with Ericsson a month ago. The project spans VimpelCom’s operations in 11 countries, and will see the telco upgrade its business support systems (BSS) to a digital stack in a bid to accelerate product and service development.”

Of course, due to such developmental pans, the future of the telecom sector of Pakistan is bright and it will definitely witness a rise in the performance in entire IT industry of Pakistan.
