MOIT Establishes a Computer Lab at Women Development and Empowerment Center. Minister of IT and Telecom Anusha Rahman and Minister of CADD Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhary  Inaugurated Computer Lab. No doubt MOIT is striving hard to bridge the gender digital divide.  Senior officials of Ministry of IT & Telecom, CADD, PBM and USF also attended the ceremony.

MOIT Establishes a Computer Lab at Women Development and Empowerment Center

Microsoft has collaborated with MOIT to provide training to young girls which will build confidence in them to participate in socio- economic development of the country.

Both ministers shown there keen interest to provide ICT facilities to female students at Women Development and Empowerment Center of Pakistan Baitulmal.

While inaugurating, Anusha said:

“ICT is the lever of economic progress. We are using this lever to empower the girls from the marginalized sections of society. Through this initiative, we aim to help girls’ students by making them computer literate.

Speaking at the occasion,Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhary said:

That in a world of global communications and far-reaching technologies, girls of our country are still facing multiple challenges. He also appreciated the endeavours of Minister for IT for provision of state of the art computer labs in 226 girls schools of Islamabad territory.

ICTs for Girls program is a very positive initiative, which train thousands of girls at Pakistan Baitul Mal. Computer Lab at women development and empowerment center will definitely bring reforms in the development sector of ICT when it come to women. No nation can excel without the equal contribution of both genders to it.
