MoIT Officially Launches the Telecom Policy 2015

The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoIT) on yesterday officially launched the “Telecommunication Policy 2015”, which was recently approved by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC). The CEOs of the Cellular Mobile Operators (CMOs) gathered on Monday to appreciate the efforts of IT Ministry on the issuance of long-awaited Telecom Policy and hoped for its positive impact on the telecom sector of Pakistan. On this occasion all CEOs also congratulated IT Minister Miss Anusha Rehman for winning UN the “Global Achievers Award”.

The CEOs also declared “Telecom Policy 2015 “a significant step that will ensure future achievements. It was also praised that under the leadership of IT Minister Anusha Rahman, Pakistan has successfully emerged on international platform. In this regard, the industry ensured about its future intentions to participate in the vision of “Accelerated Digitization” as mentioned in the policy.

This launch ceremony was attended by Chairman PTA Dr. Ismail Shah, CEOs of all five mobile companies, Member Telecom, Secretary IT, senior officials from MoIT, FAB, PTA and academia persons.
