MoIT & USF to Provide Fiber Optics Connectivity to Awaran-Lasbela Districts

The internet is getting with each passing day and its penetration is also increasing and witnessed a growth of 36 million from 1.5 million. The Internet Services Provider (ISPs) along with the Government of Pakistan, are putting more efforts to provide best internet services in the country. In this regard, Universal Service Fund (USF) is aiming to promote and provide best telecommunication both voice and data services in far flung areas of Pakistan via Optic Fiber Network. MoIT & USF to Provide Fiber Optics Connectivity to Awaran-Lasbela Districts. USF for pursing this cause has introduced “Fiber Optic Project” across the Tehsi HQs in the country. Under this project, as a part of the Balochistan-Package 4, the Minister of State for Information & Technology (MoIT) Anusha Rahman and USF will sign the contract to connect Awaran-Lasbela Districts of Balochistan, on Jan 02, 2017. The Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Finance, Economic Affairs, Statistics & Privatization will witness the contract signing ceremony.

By providing fiber optic services to the Tehsils, will help motivate the mobile companies to extend their telecom services in those areas. It is simple like offering information motor-ways to different Tehsils of Pakistan.
