MoITT Publishes One Year Performance Report

 
The one year performance of the Ministry of IT and Telecom revealed major contribution of the ministry towards the industry.

The first and the top most contribution of Ministry of Information Technology is the transparent and timely auction of Spectrum for Next Generation of Mobile services in Pakistan. Government raised billions of dollars from the recent auction, plus 3G/4G auction was the biggest contributor to the FDI budget in Pakistan.

One of the ongoing challenges confronted by MoIT T was of the grey telephony, which leads to significant revenue losses to the national exchequer by bye-passing the legal gateways to avoid taxes and regulatory fees.

Ministry engaged with telephone manufacturing companies to encourage local manufacturing of handsets on facilities through Public Private Partnership at TIP or otherwise by creating incentives such as tax holidays.

Another achievement of MoITT was the long stalled matter relating to the issuance of new LDI license, which solved when PTA issued LDI license to CMPAK.

The one year performance report of the telecom ministry shows that our the government is set to support the industry.
