NA Committee Reviews New Secure Messaging App for Government Employees

The National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Information Technology held a meeting recently. The CEO of the National IT Board (NITB), Faisal Iqbal Ratyal, gave a detailed briefing. He discussed a new mobile application called BEEP. This messaging app is designed to provide secure communication for government employees.
Faisal Iqbal said that all government agencies have certified the BEEP application. He added that the National CERT has also declared it safe. According to him, the app is even better than WhatsApp in terms of features and security.
One key advantage of the BEEP app is that all communications, including video, are encrypted. Faisal Iqbal highlighted that WhatsApp only encrypts messages. In contrast, BEEP ensures the complete privacy of both messages and calls.
