The Minister ordered NADRA chairman to step up putting in place the recommended setup for introducing the re-verification drive as soon as possible.
The meeting was headed by the Interior Minister. Various members such as Secretary Interior, National Coordinator NACTA, DG Immigration & Passport, DG ANF, Chairman NADRA, IG Islamabad, DG Civil Defence and Chief Commissioner Islamabad attended the meeting.
“No slackness will be tolerated on part of any official at any level in relation to the launch of CNIC re-verification drive and it has to be completed within a span of six months.”
The Interior Minister directed chairman NADRA.
The Interior Minister alleged, that a set-pattern will also be issued by NADRA for sending SMS to all the 105 million CNIC customers.
This substantial national security objective can only be accomplished when the CNIC re-verification drive successfully comes to an end with riddance of immigrants from NADRA’s directory, Chaudhry Nisar informed.
Chairman NADRA also apprised the minister over the media campaign arranged by NADRA for awareness of the customary mob in alliance to re-verification drive of national ID cards.
The Minister was informed that FIA, ICT Police and ANF have presented a record of 7678 Proclaimed Offenders for admittance in the Central databank up till now.
It is important to mention that Islamabad Police since April till date has taken into custody 1196 POs. The Minister also directed that all the law-enforcement departments should take advantage from the central data registry of proclaimed delinquents being managed by NADRA.
The Interior Minister also guided FIA, ANF and Islamabad Police to hasten their transaction for assuring the arrests of proclaimed offenders who are involved in abhorrent crimes with zero tolerance approach.
The Director General Immigration and Passport also notified the Interior Minister about the online renewal of passports. The minister directed DG immigration to make sure that online service is made accessible to the natives living in Pakistan.
