Netflix has brought a major change in the iOS app. Netflix Drops in-app Purchase Option for iOS Subscriptions. Now Netflix has decided that iOS users will no longer be able to subscribe to the service from within the app. However, users need to signup and subscribe for the service from the website.

Previously, Netflix users can subscribe to the service through the app itself on iOS.  However, it used Apple’s iTunes payment and subscriptions system, Apple took a 15% cut from every transaction. Netflix then passes on this charge on to the customer, which ends up paying more than the standard subscription charges. That is why Netflix Drops in-app Purchase Option for iOS Subscriptions.

A few months back, Netflix stopped supporting iTunes billing in several markets. Now it is rolling out the change worldwide. This change will only affect new subscribers. Existing subscribers can continue to use iTunes payment system for future payments.

Recently, Netflix iOS App gets a new update with new controls that are designed to make navigation simpler. The new update contains the following improvements

  • The Netflix iOS app finally offers users a “next episode” button at the end of an episode.
  •  iOS users can also now double-tap on either side of their screen to skip forward and backward between scenes.
  • The play/pause button has also been enlarged, making it a little easier to press.

This update will surely be available for iPhones, iPads, and Apple TV devices.

On the other hand, There are 40% chances that Apple will acquire Netflix according to CiTI analysts Jim Suva and Asiya Merchant. Both analysts said that both companies will reveal this news soon as Us president Trumps’ corporate tax cut has been passed. We are not sure about this news yet.
