NITB Collaboration With Private Sector Through MoUs

National Information Technology Board (NITB), an attached department of Ministry of IT & Telecom, is the technical arm of the Government of Pakistan. Within Ministry of IT (MoIT), which is primarily responsible for policy-making on subjects related to ICT at the national level.NITB has the mandate of providing IT consulting services to the federal government including training need assessment and to design and implement the identified IT capacity building programs for employees of the Federal Ministries/Divisions.

NITB is tasked with equipping Federal Government with ICT solutions to bring efficiency, transparency and better governance while discharging its core business of public service delivery.

In order to implement GoP’s vision of e-Government, NITB is endeavoring to take all necessary measures on fast track. In this connection, Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with private sector organizations and NGOs are signed for support & knowledge sharing who are voluntarily offering their services without incurring any financial liabilities/implications on the national exchequer.

The intention is to promote close interaction with the private sector organizations and learn from their best practices in relevant domains to improve public sector performance. All MOU’s signed till date by NITB strictly abide by the above mentioned principles. Under any circumstances, no IT projects are awarded as part of the MOUs. PPRA rules and regulations are always abided to in this regard.
