Nokia Acquires Earthmine for 3D Mapping Business

Nokia has revamped its mapping tools under a new brand name to win back customers. Nokia has officially announced that it has acquired 3-D map-technology maker Earthmine Inc.

The reason behind the acquisition is to step up in competition. By importing Earthmine’s mapping street-level graphics into HERE Maps will help Nokia get an upper hand and eventually will improve its entire Maps ecosystem.
