The smartphone manufacturer, Nokia announced that its Chief Operating Officer Monuika Maurer is leaving the company. Nokia has Lost its Chief Operating Officer After Just 8 Months.

COO Monika Maurer will be replaced by Joerg Erlemeier who is currently working as a senior vice president for Nokia Transformation. Th Finnish smartphone giant announced the news on Monday.

Monika was promoted to group COO in April when Nokia head of mobile networks Samih Elhage departed from the company. Previously she was working as COO of fixed networks.

While breaking the news, Nokia revealed that:

“Monika Maurer… will support Erlemeier during a transition period and then leave Nokia to pursue new opportunities outside the company,”

Nokia is going through tough time since some time now. Just months back Nokia has started to launch its smartphones to compete its rivals. However the telecom network operators still need to go through a long way. With the time, demand for 2G, 3G and 4G has subsided and 5G networks are about to be launched soon, Nokia need to grow in any case.

Nokia lost around fifth of their value in October when when company reported sharp drop in earning due to overall market and internal problems.

Lets see whether company will have to bear more loss due to this resignation or they will go on normally. There are many rumors and leaks that HMD Global is hosting a Launch event in China on January 19 to unveil Nokia 9. It is also reported that the company will also showcase Nokia 8 along with other flagship device. Nokia 9 to Launch with Nokia 8 (2018) on January 19. Lets see!
