Before that users were not able to check their Local Guides points. So those who want to do it from the mobile app are now getting the options to edit and manage public profiles.

Now users are also able to hide their public contributions on their profile. Users can do that by visiting Menu> profile >More > Profile settings and turn off Show contributions on profile. The name, photo, and bio will always be visible on profile and anyone see all this information.

It is available in some countries and might come to your region soon, in case you are not able to see it yet. There’s also no details of when iOS users will receive this option.

Google is continuously trying to make its Maps app more than just a navigation app but also a discovery and recommendation platform. The company is bringing changes and features to the mobile app in order to make it more convenient for the users and facilitate them in every possible way.
