The company has informed us via e-mail that from now on, you can only pay your full fare or more. That means now your account cannot have unpaid balance anymore. So, from now, when you start your journey with Careem then make sure to carry the necessary amount with you when you book a ride.
The major reason behind the changes in the Careem payment policy is that When your fare is not paid in full, it directly affects the earning of Captain.
The Careem has highlighted the following point in the e-mail so you can have a look.
In the event where you don’t have the exact change:
- Your Captain can deposit the extra amount (up to Rs. 400) in your Careem wallet
- Your Captain can take you to the nearest ATM for cash
- You can enter your debit/credit card details into the Careem app before the ride & go cashless
