NTC to Improve its Revenues through CPEC. National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC) has planned to increase its revenue up to 100 percent through introducing modern corporate packages under public private partnerships (PPP). For this purpose, NTC will get new contracts on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

While talking to APP NTC Chairman/Managing Director Wiqar Rashid Khan said that :
“NTC is a national corporation with vast telecom consumers. In a short span of time NTC has shown great developments since its coverage area increased from 54 districts to 87. He also told the press that NTC would soon be covering 113 districts in all provinces.”
Wiqar Rashid also stated that during last three years, NTC management and workers pulled out the corporation from the deficit and made it an institution running with its own resources. He said the annual revenue of the NTC was risen to 360 million which was a great achievement. Wiqar Rashid also appreciated the performance of Central Region Lahore in respect of recovery and new connections.

To a question, he said that NTC launched special drive to recover outstanding dues from the defaulters which was giving positive results in all provinces. He said that NTC would be engaged in various projects of CPEC from Gilgit to Gawadar which would definitely increase the revenue of the corporation upto 100 percent.
Moreover, NTC signed agreements with known telecom companies including Mobilink, Zong, Wateen, LMKT, Multinet and others with an aim to widen the scope of NTC services and generate income, he said.
