Offensive Urdu Apps Need Serious Attention from the Government

Unfortunately, with this increasing tendency the offensive applications in Urdu language have become most popular on Google Play Store. The popularity of these Apps is because of two reasons. One reason is its free installation from the play store. Another reason is stuff available on the Apps. Many of these apps are providing adult jokes, adult advises, adult stories and many other things which are considered as taboo in our society.

Although these Apps have blinking sign like “Children please do not see this” and “Only for above 18” which makes it more attractive for teenager. Now the questions are who should be blamed for providing an easy access to these Apps? How these explicit and sexual Apps would impact the new generation and who would take the responsibility to stop promoting these Apps. As according to a software developer, the reason behind this issue is that more and more developers are adopting this field because the soft porn is giving them increasing download and installation number and ultimately making these apps popular.

It seems like the only ray of hope left to deal with this problem is to wait for the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to take any action. According to a recently news published by “The Nation”; PTA held itself aloof from the preview of these Apps matter.

As far as the offensive Urdu Apps are concerned, the matter must be taken under serious consideration by the whosoever authority of Government as the availability of affordable smartphones has provided with easy access to such offensive content.
